Delhi

Delhi, India’s modern capital is also an ancient city tracing its origins in legend. It is dotted with hundreds of landmarks and offers more than a millennium of history in stone. From here the various Hindu and Muslim dynasties including the Mughals ruled. When the British administration moved to Delhi (in 1911), New Delhi became the capital of India.

Old Delhi

The tour of old Delhi includes a brief visit to the Red Fort, a huge settlement that contains within it some very beautiful palaces and handsome public buildings. We will drive past Jamma Masjid, one of the largest mosques and a handsome structure that is still a house of worship for devout Muslims. Also we will visit Raj Ghat, the cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi. If time permits, you will also enjoy a cycle rickshaw ride through the silver streets of one of Delhi’s largest marketplaces, Chandni Chowk.

New Delhi

New Delhi has the India Gate, a memorial raised in honor of the Indian soldiers who were martyred during the Afghan war. Directly opposite is Rashtrapati Bhawan, once the imperial residence of the British Viceroys, now the official residence of the president of India. To one side is Parliament House, a circular building that is a symbol of Indian democracy.  Also, we will visit Humayun’s tomb, a sandstone forerunner of the Taj Mahal and Qutab Minar, an 11th century victory tower that rises to a height of 73 meters.

Haridwar

A paradise for nature-lovers, Haridwar presents kaleidoscope of Indian culture and civilization. Haridwar also termed, as ‘Gateway to Gods’ is known as Mayapuri, Kapila, Gangadwar, as well. The followers of Lord Shiva (Har) and followers of Lord Vishnu (Hari) pronounce this place Haridwar and Haridwar respectively as told by some. It is also a point of entry to Dev Bhoomi and Char Dham (four main centers of pilgrimage in Uttarakhand) Viz. Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri.

Rishikesh

Rishikesh is located in the north of India in the state of Uttrakhand. Rishikesh is known as the gateway to the Himalayas and a famous pilgrimage city for Hindus and yogis. The city annually attracts thousands of pilgrims and tourists both from India, as well as, from the western countries. It is home to many yoga centers that can partially look back on a long tradition. Rishikesh, therefore, has the reputation of being the yoga capital of the world to be.

Agra

Agra is the city of the Taj Mahal, perhaps the most photographed monument in the world. However, no matter how many pictures you have seen or no matter how high your expectations are, the Taj never lets you down – the unparalleled glory and beauty of the building surpasses beyond all human imaginations.

Agra fort

Agra fort is an astounding structure comprising of sprawling palaces, royal private rooms, harems, magnificent towers, bastions, ramparts, and awe-inspiring gateways, showcasing not only the political stature and power of Mughal Empire under Akbar, but also the advancements made in the sphere of art and architecture.

Neelkanth temple

Neelkanth temple is one of the most sacred places of worship for the Hindus. It is located on a hill above Swargashram in Rishikesh and is situated at an altitude of 925 m. Neelkanth temple is considered to be an apt example of complete natural hill heaven that lies adjacent to mountain ranges of the Nar-Narayan. Because of its beauty & religious importance the devotees and nature lovers visit the place round the year. Neelkanth Mahadev temple is considered to be one of the most famous temples and is situated at the confluence of the Madhumati and Pankaja rivers, amidst the three valleys – Vishnukoot, Brahmakoot & Manikoot.

Roopkund

Roopkund the mystery lake. It was lakes that, a large number of human bones were found and anthropologists are still working on its significance. The lake however is nestled amidst on a panoramic mountain scenery.

Lakhudiyar and Jageshwar

These are important prehistoric sites. Here you can see ancient temples and beautiful valleys surrounded by magnificent deader trees. We drive to Pithoragarh to have a close look of picturesque Pithoragarh. Explore sight seeing – Chandak , Thalkedar , Patharkhani , Lacher and Dhwaj  All these places make Pithoragarh a paradise of every season. You can also enjoy paragliding here.

Jim Corbett national park

Jim Corbett national park is the oldest national park in India and was established in 1936 as Hailey national park to protect the endangered Bengal tiger. It is located in Nainital district of Uttarakhand and was named after Jim Corbett who played a key role in its establishment. The park was the first to come under the project tiger initiative.

Day 1: Arrive Delhi, the capital city of India

  • Arrive at Delhi’s international airport. Our airport representative will be meeting you on arrival (after clearing passport and customs formalities) and shall assist for the transfer to the hotel for check-in.

Day 2: Full day city tour of new Delhi and old Delhi

  • After breakfast at the hotel, we begin with the morning tour of New Delhi.
  • In the afternoon after lunch we will have sightseeing of old Delhi.
  • Overnight stay at your hotel

Day 3: The morning train to Mughal city Agra

  • Explore Agra city
  • Later visit, Agra Fort
  • Train to Delhi in the evening
  • Overnight stay at your hotel

Day 4: Delhi – Rishikesh (via Haridwar)

  • Train to Haridwar (210kms/ 5 hours)
  • Local tour of Haridwar with lunch
  • Later drive from Haridwar to Rishikesh by taxi 2 (approximately 25 minutes).
  • Check in the hotel Rishikesh
  • Dinner at the hotel
  • Overnight stay at the hotel (Rishikesh)

Day 5: Rishikesh

  • 08:00 – 09:30 – Morning yoga class
  • After breakfast departure to white-water rafting on the Ganges.
  • Visit Laksham Jhula, a long and mighty bridge over the Ganges, which was built in 1939. You will visit various temples in the city and in the evening enjoy the Arati ceremony on the banks of the Ganges.

Day 6: Rishikesh

  • 08:00 – 09:30 – Morning yoga class
  • After breakfast walk & trek from hotel to Neer waterfall (1 hour 30 minutes)
  • Later local tour of Rishikesh with lunch
  • Dinner at the hotel
  • Overnight stay at hotel (Rishikesh)

Day 7: Rishikesh

  • 08:00 – 09:30 – Morning yoga class
  • Later drive to Neelkanth Mahadev temple
  • Lunch in the afternoon
  • Dinner at the hotel
  • Overnight stay at hotel (Rishikesh)

Day 8: Rishikesh- Srinagar (105 km drive, 4 hours)

  • 08:00 – 09:30 – Morning yoga class
  • After breakfast, drive to Srinagar via Devprayag.
  • On the way visit Devprayag where Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers meet. From here the holy river Ganges started.
  • Arrival at Srinagar by afternoon, check into the hotel.
  • Lunch & dinner in the hotel.
  • Overnight stay in the hotel (Srinagar)

Day 9: Srinagar – Mundoli (145 km drive, 6 hours)

  • 08:00 – 09:30 – Morning yoga class
  • After breakfast, drive to the small hamlet of Mundoli (2134m)
  • Lunch en route to Mundoli
  • We arrive Mundoli where the trek begins.
  • Dinner and overnight in guesthouse / tents.

Day 10: Mundoli – Bekhal Tal (8 km, 5 hours walking)

  • 08:00 – 09:30 – Morning yoga class
  • Post breakfast begin the trek with packed lunch.
  • Cross the Lahjung pass (2250m) and continue to Bekhal Tal- a small lake amidst picturesque surroundings.
  • Dinner and overnight stay at the camp.

Day 11: Bekhal Tal – Wan (10 km, 6 hours walking)

  • Post breakfast.
  • Continue the trek with packed lunch to Wan village.
  • The trail takes you via another small lake- Brahm Tal.
  • Dinner and overnight stay at the camp / guesthouse at Wan (2340m).

Day 12: Wan – Bedni Bugyal

  • 08:00 – 09:30 – Morning yoga class
  • Post breakfast begin with the uphill trek and reach the ‘Bugyals’ (high altitude meadows) of Bedini (3354m) – a beautiful location with magnificent view of the surrounding mountains.
  • Lunch en route
  • Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 13: Bedni Bugyal

  •  08:00 – 09:30 – Morning yoga class
  • Day to explore the surroundings, which is bound to be an experience to be remembered.
  • Breakfast, lunch, evening tea and dinner and overnight stay in the camp.

Day 14: Bedni Bugyal – Baguabasa (7km, 4 hours walking)

  • 08:00 – 09:30 – Morning yoga class
  • Post breakfast trek through the undulating grasslands to reach Baguabasa (3380m).
  • Lunch en route.
  • Dinner and overnight stay at the camp.

Day 15: Roopkund excursion (8 km trekking – 5 hours walking)

  • Post breakfast.
  • Start trek with packed lunch to the mysterious ‘Pond of Beauty’- Roop Kund (5029m), close to the base of the Trishul (7120m) and Nanda Ghungti (6310m) Peaks.
  • Return to camp at Baguabasa for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 16: Baguabasa – Wan (6 hours walking)

  • 08:00 – 09:30 – Morning yoga class
  • Post breakfast.
  • Retrace the route back to Wan with pack lunch
  • Dinner and overnight stay in guesthouse / tents

Day 17: Wan – Almora (170 km drive, 6 hours)

  •  08:00 – 09:30 – Morning yoga class
  • After breakfast drive to Almora – lunch on the way.
  • Arrival at Almora and check in at hotel.
  • In the evening visit local sightseeing tour dinner & overnight stay in hotel

Day 18: Almora – Jim Corbett national park (134 km drive, 5 hours)

  • 08:00 – 09:30 – Morning yoga class
  • After breakfast we drive to the spots where you get a breath taking view of the Himalayas.
  • We take you to Lakhudiyar and Jageshwar, both around 20 to 40 kms from Almora.
  • Later your journey continues to the wild tropical jungles to Corbett.
  • On arrival, check-in into your hotel.
  • Overnight stay at the hotel in Corbett.

Day 19: Jim Corbett national park

  • 08:00 – 09:30 – Morning yoga class
  • After Breakfast, tiger safari
  • Lunch en route
  • Dinner at hotel
  • Overnight stay at the hotel in Corbett.

Day 20: Corbett – Delhi (270 km drive, 8 hours)

  • 08:00 – 09:30 – Morning yoga class and discussion
  • Morning after breakfast drive to Delhi
